Buckwheat was the staple food in Toga until the beginning of Showa Era.
The villagers started gathering together at a soba(buckwheat noodles) party to
break the winter monotony some 50 years ago. This has since become an annual
event in the form of the Toga Soba Festival in February.

which visitors can learn all about buckwheat noodles, enjoy local food, and
make noodles by themselves as well.
